Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a diagnosis to start therapy? No — many adults seek therapy simply because they want support.

Will therapy feel emotional? Therapy is a space to explore difficult experiences/topics so that you can make healthier changes for yourself. Dr. Gasparian and Dr. Tara create a warm, steady space to help you feel safe.

How long does therapy last? It depends on your goals.

Short-term therapy is typically structured, goal-oriented, and focused on addressing specific concerns within a limited timeframe.

Long-term therapy is more exploratory and process-oriented, focusing on deeper patterns, emotional insight, and lasting change over time.

Dr. Gasparian can provide both. However, she prefers the nature of longer-term therapy.

Can therapy help if I’m high‑functioning? Absolutely. Therapy can be beneficial if someone is high functioning externally but feels overwhelmed internally. Perfectionism, avoidance, and self-criticism are often internal experiences that drive high-functioning individuals to maintain that level of functioning. These patterns can be explored to help clients find healthier alignment and fulfillment.

You Deserve Support That Actually Helps - You don’t have to navigate anxiety or depression alone. Dr. Gasparian and Dr. Tara offer a warm, collaborative space and are committed to meeting you where you are to begin your journey of wellness.
